What you'll be able to do after this module
- Explain how a fire starts and keeps going, and how each type of system puts it out.
- Name the classes of fire, and explain why a "Class C" fire means something different in the UK and the US.
- Explain who writes British Standards and NFPA codes, and why a Dow site may use both.
- Use the right words: inspection, test, maintenance, service, impairment.
- Follow the basic routine of a service visit safely: arrive, permit, isolate, work, restore, record.
How long?
Roughly 2β3 days, alongside shadowing on site. Do the flashcards a few minutes a day, little and often, rather than all at once.
